Egyptian authorities close Rafah border crossing

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Egyptian authorities closed the Rafah border crossing on Wednesday morning for “security reasons”.Maher Abu Sabha, director of the general department of crossings in the interior ministry, said that the Egyptian authorities attributed the closure to events in the Egyptian border city of Rafah.He asked citizens to follow up the interior ministry’s website to know whether the crossing would be open on Thursday; at the event of which those registering for travel on Wednesday would have priority of travel on Thursday.A powerful explosion had blasted the Egyptian military intelligence premises in Rafah earlier on Wednesday inflicting casualties./149
